Victoria Vargas

Mezzo-sopranoVictoria Vargas has sung more than twenty-five roles with Minnesota Opera andhas performed with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Chautauqua Opera, and SarasotaOpera, among others. Her concert credits include appearances with the MinnesotaOrchestra, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic, ChautauquaSymphony, South Dakota Symphony, Phoenix Symphony, La Jolla Symphony, BillingsSymphony, and the Bach Society of Minnesota. She placed seven times at theMetropolitan Opera National Council Auditions at the district and regionallevels and was a finalist in Opera San José's Irene Dalis Competition. Thisseason she makes a world premiere and company debut singing the role of Señorain the opera Ofrenda with Austin Opera, sings a recital of Mahler'sKindertotenlider, performs Mahler's Symphony No. 3 with the Greater Twin CitiesYouth Orchestra, and is the mezzo soloist for the Verdi Requiem at BethelUniversity, MN.
