Competition SummaryThe Sioux City Symphony Orchestra is committed to educating, developing, and promoting American composers. The SCSO Composer of the Year Competition is designed to highlight one talented composer in the early stages of their professional career. The winner will receive a $5,000 monetary prize, a premiere performance by the Sioux City Symphony, press/media coverage, lectures at local colleges and universities, and involvement in community outreach programs. The concert will also be broadcast and digitally archived on the SCSO.LIVE platform, with exclusive behind-the-scenes access for the winner.
