Missouri River Choral Society
The Missouri River Choral Society is an auditioned community choir serving the confluence of Northwest Iowa, Southeast South Dakota, and Northeast Nebraska. The 24–30 members of the choir come from a variety of professions including music teachers, lawyers, dentists, educators and others. The Choral Society presents 3–4 concerts a year and collaborates regularly with the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra on works such as the Mahler 2nd Symphony and Handel’s Messiah.
The choir was founded in 2018 and has worked with composers such as James Mulholland and Richard Burchard. The choir enjoyed their first international tour to Italy in the summer of 2024 with stops in Venice, Florence, Siena and Rome.
