Laura Strickling

Two-time Grammy nominee for Best Classical Vocal Solo Album— for Confessions (2022) and 40@40 (2024) — soprano Laura Strickling has beenrecognized by The New York Times for her “flexible voice, crystalline diction,and warm presence.” Celebrated for her work in art song, she curated theNewMusicShelf Anthology of Contemporary Art Songs for Soprano and founded The40@40 Project, commissioning new songs from today's leading composers andpoets. On the concert stage she has appeared as soloist in Mahler's FourthSymphony with the Knoxville Symphony and San Antonio Philharmonic, Beethoven'sNinth with the Seattle Symphony, and Handel's Messiah with the Indianapolis,Pacific, and Richmond symphonies, among many other oratorio and orchestralworks. Her art-song repertoire spans more than 450 songs in 14 languages. AChicago native, she has lived in Morocco, Afghanistan, and the U.S. VirginIslands, and now resides in Wisconsin.
